The 100th Anniversary Steering Committee has been quite busy over the last few months planning activitiesleading up to our celebration in 2012. We wanted to give everyone an update on our progress.

1. SPIRITUAL PROGRAMS. We will be distributing the prayer cards at each Mass this week and will begin praying the St. Joseph's Centennial Prayer during every Mass. We are also planning a spiritual event to be held prior to our special Mass on November 26 this year. More information will be available on this later.

2. HISTORY. We have almost completed researching our history and have gathered and catalogued an enormous amount of information for our archives. We have now collected pictures and biographies of all pastors who have served at St. Joseph's. Beginning in January, 2011, we will feature a different pastor each month and will hang their picture in our parish hall.

3. FUNDRAISING. We will be having a fundraising concert in the parish near the end of 2010. We are ordering 100th Anniversary items for purchase to promote the celebration – items such as votive candles, tee shirts, pins, etc.

4. CHURCH PROJECT. We have recommended a project that we believe will memorialize the Centennial, provide lasting value to the church and will give all parishioners and groups to be involved. We will be making announcements on this project in the near future. We appreciate your support and prayers and we will keep you updated as more information becomes

The 100th Anniversary Steering Committee is pleased to announce our Centennial slogan, "Celebrating the Past ‐ Building the Future" We would like to thank everyone who submitted the great suggestions, and especially Mary Borden and Donna Cummins whose slogans were the inspiration for our final selection. We will be using this on all of our posters, banners and cards. We have also finalized the Prayer Card design and will have them available for distribution within a few weeks. We would like everyone to join us in praying for the success of our 100th Anniversary celebrations. We have now completed the 100th Anniversary page on the St. Joseph website and ask you to watch it for future news items.
