Catholic Women's League (CWL)

The CWL is a Canada wide organization with a membership of over 114,000. We have celebrated our 75th anniversary and remain a strong voice for Catholic women at both the provincial and federal levels of government.

Our patroness is “Our Lady of Good Counsel”, our mission statement is “that we’re an organization rooted in gospel values, calling our members to holiness, through service to the people of God”, and our motto is “for God and Canada”.

The St. Joseph’s Parish Council of the CWL holds regular meetings and has spiritual, educational, and social programs, as well as community service activities. Some of our activities include craft and bake sale, living rosary, fund raising for St. Mary’s College and Pro Life as well as various other fun and interesting activities. We’re open to suggestions. Come and join us.

Membership in the CWL gives women an opportunity to grow in friendship and faith, and to provide service to the community. Some of their endeavours include providing catering to funeral receptions; the Rose at the Altar program to welcome the newly baptized in our parish; and gifts for children receiving the sacraments. The CWL meets at 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month.

Hospitality

This group promotes friendship within our parish by providing coffee after the 9:00 am and the 11:00 am masses.

Members provide help, where needed, and fundraise to provide monetary aid to the needy and various social agencies and charities. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 07:30 pm in the parish hall.
